This performance preceded a lengthy discussion on the use of racist and discriminatory terms, and the implications of repeating them. How does the harmful language we use need to change? What is implied with the slang we speak? After the performance, we discussed what it means to spell out the word Zigeuner, does it make the word less powerful? Or, conversly, give the term more emphasis?
